KIDS - Ready to Read

Every Child Ready to Read® @ your library® (ECRR) is a parent education initiative. It stresses early literacy begins with the primary adults in a child's life. The ECRR toolkit empowers public libraries to assume an essential role in supporting early literacy within a community.

Babies and Books (Birth – 18 months)

For children from birth to 18 months. Books, songs, fingerplays and more! Learn techniques to help you, help your baby, get Ready to Read.

Programs are approximately 20-30 minutes long. All programs begin at 11:00 am.

Toddler Time (18 months – 3 years)

Storytime specifically for the active toddler. Hear great stories, discover action rhymes, learn new songs, and more. Stimulate your child’s imagination and get them Ready to Read!

Programs are approximately 30 minutes long. All programs begin at 11:00 am.

Preschool Storytime (3 – 5 years)

Experience new and classic picture books, enjoy favorite songs, learn new fingerplays and activities. School is just around the corner, this is a fun way to have your child Ready to Read.

Story Play (Birth – 5 years)

Hear wonderful stories, discover amazing toys, and meet new friends in this fun informal program. Playing and reading helps prepare your child to be Ready to Read.

Programs are approximately 30 minutes long. All programs begin at 11:00 am.

Family Storytime (ALL Ages and the Young at Heart)


The WHOLE family is invited on a journey into books, songs, and activities. Preschool age children engage in skills that help them become Ready to Read. Older children will hear new stories and learn new songs. Fun for ALL ages!

Programs are approximately 30-60 minutes long.

All Locations - Saturday at 11:00 am

TEENS - Homework Help

 
Learning ExpressLearning Express

Learning Express is an online interactive suite of tutorials and practice tests designed to help patrons, students and adult learners succeed on all academic and career paths.  Patrons and students can get immediate feedback on subjects from all academic fronts as well as practice exams for SAT, ACT, ASVAB and many others.  Learning Express is available free of charge through TexShare.    

 

TexShare

TexShareTexShare is a comprehensive research and learning tool provided free of charge through the El Paso Public Library.  It offers access to hundreds of research databases in subjects such as health, genealogy, business, and education, with resources for adults, teens and children. Research your family tree, look up medical conditions, or get information for a school project...all in one place! 

Please contact the library at 543-5433 for access instructions and user credentials provided free of charge. In order to access the TexShare Databases from a computer outside of the library, you must have a library card with the El Paso Public Library.  

Go to http://www.libraryoftexas.org/texshare  to log-in with the user credentials provided by El Paso Public Library.

SENIORS - Volunteer

Volunteer: Maintain an active lifestyle and serve the community by volunteering at our libraries or by joining one of our Friends of the Library groups. Contact your local branch manager to find out how.
