Dave Mott is an illustrator from Youngstown, Ohio. He started drawing when he was able to hold a crayon and has not been able to stop since. Growing up in a blue collar, steel town he embraced that work ethic, working his way through school. He studied Fine Art at Youngstown State University. After graduating in 1996, he pursued a career in design and illustration. Dave has illustrated various children’s apps and children’s picture books.

Mott’s art ranges from pop culture imagery to children’s fairy tales. Mary Blair, Martin and Alice Provenson, Charley Harper and Maurice Sendak are just some of the many artists that have a had a strong impact on Dave’s work.

The Letter Project was initially created to teach Dave’s daughter the alphabet. However, it has also peaked the interest of other parents and educators. Dave resides in Stow, Ohio with his wife and daughter.

The Letter Parade can be viewed in the Children's Room at the Memorial Park Library. Artwork installation was completed September 15, 2012.

The twenty-six 22” Giclée prints and framing were paid for by a generous donation from the Friends of the Memorial Park Library.
