The Richard Burges Branch will be closed to the public beginning on November 6, 2017 for expansion and renovation funded by the 2012 Quality of Life Bond Issue.
The project includes:
- New dedicated children’s room
- Public art piece designed by local artist Hal Marcus
- Expanded & dedicated computer lab
- Expanded community meeting room space
- Additional study room
- Dedicated and revitalized teen area
- Dedicated Friends of the Library bookstore
- Self-service check out stations
As of today, lending services are now available inside the Nolan Richardson Recreation Center located at 4435 Maxwell Avenue.
Those services are up and running. The operating hours for that location are:
Monday – Thursday 1PM - 9PM
Fridays 1PM - 6 PM
Saturdays 9AM- 2PM
The Techmobile will provide computer services in the parking lot at the Richard Burges Branch, 9600 Dyer:
Mon - Thurs 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Fri 1:00 PM - 5:30 PM
Citizenship classes – 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, except for 2nd Tuesday of each month – 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. at Northeast Police Command Center, 9600 Dyer, Suite A
Computer Skills class – 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Wednesdays and 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursdays at Techmobile in RB parking lot
Spanish Conversation Class - 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesdays in Toxicology Lab (9600 Dyer, Suite D)
Children’s Story Time – 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Bowling Family YMCA, 5509 Will Ruth Ave.
Teen Chat and Chew Book Club – 4:30 to 5:30 Tuesdays at Bowling Family YMCA, 5509 Will Ruth Ave.
Teen Hangout – 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursdays at Bowling Family YMCA, 5509 Will Ruth Ave.
Adult GED class –6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursdays at Rae Gilmore Recreation Center, 8501 Diana Dr.
