The Richard Burges Branch will be closed to the public beginning on November 6, 2017 for expansion and renovation funded by the 2012 Quality of Life Bond Issue.
The project includes:
- New dedicated children’s room
- Public art piece designed by local artist Hal Marcus
- Expanded & dedicated computer lab
- Expanded community meeting room space
- Additional study room
- Dedicated and revitalized teen area
- Dedicated Friends of the Library bookstore
- Self-service check out stations

Lending services at Nolan Richardson Recreation Center, 4435 Maxwell Ave.
The Techmobile provides computer services in the Richard Burges parking lot located at 9600 Dyer:
Tues - Thurs 9:30-5:30
Citizenship classes – 5:00 to 6:30 PM on Tuesdays at Northeast Police Command Center, 9600 Dyer, Suite A
Computer Skills class – 4 to 5 PM Wednesdays and 10 to 11 AM Thursdays in the Techmobile in the Richard Burges parking lot. (Only students in lab during these times)
Spanish Conversation Class - 1 to 2 PM Wednesdays in Toxicology Lab (9600 Dyer, Suite D)
Children’s Story Time – 1PM to 2PM Tuesdays & Thursdays at Rae Gilmore Recreation Center, 8501 Diana Dr.
Teen Chat and Chew Book Club – 4:30 to 5:30 PM Tuesdays at Rae Gilmore Recreation Center, 8501 Diana Dr.
Teen Hangout – 4:30 to 6:30 PM Thursdays at Rae Gilmore Recreation Center, 8501 Diana
Adult GED class –6 to 8 PM Thursdays at Rae Gilmore Recreation Center, 8501 Diana Dr.
