Special Exhibits

One of the most beautiful pieces of art in the City is inside the Armijo Branch library in Segundo barrio. Created by muralist Carlos Callejo, the mural entitled "Discover the Secrets of the Universe through Your Library" the mural depicts the richness of the culture found in its surrounding community.

 

Computers

Computers are available for public use. All minors must have Internet permission. All computer users must present a library card and a pin in order to reserve a computer. The computer lab closes 15 minutes prior to closing time.

Friends of the Library

The Bookmark is a used bookstore operated by the Friends of the Westside Libraries to support the Westside Branch, the Dorris Van Doren Regional, and the Armijo Branch Libraries.

The Bookmark is located at 7348 Remcon Circle, just down the street from the Westside Post Office. Hours of operation are Wed and Fri from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Thurs and Sat from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

A membership in the Friends costs $5.00 annually. Members receive a 10% discount on all purchases at the Bookmark and are invited to a backroom sale once a year. Forms may be filled out at the Bookmark or a check may be mailed directly to the store. If you’d like to get on our email list for sales, please send an email to [email protected].
Donations of books, magazines, and audio-visual materials are gratefully accepted during store hours at the Bookmark.
