MLK Pantry Drive

Public Libraries to Host Pantry Drive in Observance of MLK Day of Service

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, the El Paso Public Libraries is hosting a pantry drive to benefit The Mustard Seed Café from Saturday, January 17 through Saturday, January 30, 2026.  Donations will be accepted at all El Paso Public Library branches during normal business hours.

The Public Libraries invites the community to take part in the pantry drive that benefits The Mustard Seed Café, a local nonprofit kitchen serving individuals and families in need. Donations collected will help replenish café’s kitchen supplies and support its ongoing mission to provide nourishing meals in a welcoming environment.

The pantry drive is part of the library system’s commitment to service, community partnership, and Dr. King’s call to turn compassion into action.

“MLK Day of Service reminds us that everyone can make a difference,” said El Paso Public Libraries Director, Norma Martinez. “By hosting this pantry drive across our library branch locations, we are making it easy for residents to give back and support a vital community resource.”

Community members are encouraged to donate new and unopened items that are within their expiration dates. Wishlist donations include a variety of pantry staples, kitchen supplies, and food-service items. For a complete list of items, click the button below.
