Did you know that reading can reduce stress by up to 68%? Finding something that you enjoy reading can lower your heart rate and the tension in your muscles. If you have a child in school, the best way to prepare them for the upcoming school year is by reading over the summer. Children lose as much as 30% of the knowledge gained during the school year over summer break.
Stay engaged in learning, enjoy the summer, and stop summer learning loss with the El Paso Public Libraries. Stay connected by attending programs at all 14 open locations and the Bookmobile.
Join The Challenge & Earn Points
Beanstack is an easy-to-use app and website to record all your activities, events, and reading this summer. Be sure to log your reading minutes and activities to earn points to redeem prizes and raffle tickets!
You can log your minutes at elpasolibrary.beanstack.org or download the app for Apple and Android. Registration begins June 1 and ends August 1. Reading, activities, and raffle tickets must be earned and deposited by August 1 to be eligible for prizes.
Returning Beanstack Users: Your accounts remain active from year to year. Using your login information, you can update your account and register for the current year’s summer reading challenge.
Badges & Points can be earned on Beanstack by:
- Reading OR listening to a book, eBook, audio, eAudio book, magazine & logging the time read.
- Visiting as many library locations as you can to earn badges, points, and stickers (while supplies last).
- Attending library programs and events between June 1 and August 1.
- Completing activities in Beanstack

- Digital raffle tickets to enter into the raffle of your choice.
Dino Dollars
100 points equals 1 Dino Dollar! You can earn up to 40 Dino Dollars for every 100 points earned on Beanstack. Dino Dollars can be redeemed at your home branch’s prize store, beginning Saturday, June 6.

Digital raffle tickets can be deposited into the raffle prizes of your choice. This year’s raffle prizes include:
