The El Paso Public Libraries and the Great Khalid Foundation are teaming up to host an essay contest in honor of Mother's and Father's Day.
The contest is free and open to those ages 5 to 18. The contest asks youth to write about their parent or parental figure in their life. Parental figures can be aunts, uncles, grandparents, older siblings or others who have served as a parental influence.
Contest Rules:
- Participants must be 5 - 18 years old
- Entry form information must be complete
- Essays must be your own original work (plagiarized or AI essays will be disqualified)
- Handwritten essays must be legible
- Essays should not exceed two pages
- Entries will not be returned
- All entries become property of El Paso Public library and the Great Khalid Foundation
- Deadline to submit Mother's Day essay entries is May 1. Deadline to submit Father's Day essay entries is May 26.
- Entries may be submitted online or in person at any public library branch.
